I got my bachelor degree in Biology by the University of Santiago de Compostela (USC) in 2013. I joined the research team of Psychiatric Genetics at the end of 2013, while I was doing a master’s degree in Biomedical Research at the USC, obtaining the diploma with a Master’s Final Project entitled: “Study of the Polygenic Component in Obsessive–Compulsive Disorder”.
I got my PhD degree with the Doctoral Thesis project “Analysis of Polygenic Risk to Suffer Psychiatric Disorders: Etiopathogenic and Clinical Implications in Schizophrenia and Alcoholism.” The main purpose of this project was to optimize the use of current genetic information as an additional predictive factor on the risk assessment of alcohol abuse/dependence and schizophrenia, explained by the global polygenic component, as well as the assessment of the variation of the susceptibility explained by this genetic component.
